Joshua Trees the Film

JOSHUA TREES The Film follows Ben, a luckless/frustrated musician clinging sometimes gracefully, sometimes desperately, to the dream of making it. With middle-age approaching, Ben looks for reinvention rather than surrender. First comes a book about the mythic Joshua Tree area, a guileful(or crafty/artful) attempt to tether himself with a place so revered for its art and creativity, especially that of his country rock heroes. Disappointed with the book’s initial reception, he hopes to generate interest by launching a scrappy DIY variety show, blurring lines between performance, promotion, and self-mythology. While Ben chases success and relevance through unfamiliar mediums, the true motivation quietly emerges- reuniting his band, The Reckless Kind. Long dormant, the band was a creative high point… and he feels he has unfinished business.

Ernest, Heartfelt, and dryly funny, JOSHUA TREES The Film paints a portrait of creative persistence, exploring the drive of an artist whose dreams remain elusive. At its core, the film is about the uneasy relationships between ambition, delusion, grit, and rational acceptance that things don't always work out the way you hoped.
