This video installation with live performance was commissioned in 2016 by Future Tongue, an experimental art collective founded by Britt Harrison, and presented in Downtown Los Angeles. The piece combined projected video with a live dance performance in which the performer used chalk to draw a series of boxes on the floor, continually moving in and out of them while erasing and redrawing their boundaries.

Through repetition and physical labor, the work explored themes of constraint, impermanence, and self-definition, emphasizing the body’s negotiation with space and structure. The continual creation and erasure of the chalk forms underscored the instability of borders both physical and psychological, positioning the performance as an evolving, time-based meditation on presence and limitation.
